THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT: The Kaibab National Forest

The Kaibab National Forest (KNF) is seeking to fill one (1) intern position responsible for assisting the Tribal Relations program with a wide variety of tasks associated with consultation and coordination with tribal governments. The incumbent reports directly to the Tribal Relations Program Manager (TRPM). Work will be focused on supporting the government-to-government consultation process between the KNF and tribes, and working directly with tribal partners on field projects under the supervision of the TRPM. In addition, the incumbent will work closely with the Forest Public Affairs program to develop public information products for the Forest. While no previous tribal relations experience is required for this position, the incumbent should have strong written and verbal communications skills, and a desire to work with tribes and other partners on a wide variety of projects. • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) • Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate good work ethic • Basic knowledge of tribes and land management issues related to tribes

Housing: Government housing may be available for this position.
