Fire Maintenance Assistant

Description:

  • Inspect, maintain, test and record fire safety equipment on campus.
  • Conduct monthly inspections on fire extinguishers
  • Conduct monthly inspections with emergency and exit lighting
  • Inspect eyewash stations monthly
  • Create work orders for any deficiencies with the systems inspected
  • Maintain monthly records on excel spreadsheet and keep up to date
  • Review Fire Book to make sure floor plans, maps, and documents are up to date
  • Replace batteries in residential style smoke detectors on campus annually
  • Notify Campus Fire Marshal of any code violations or deficiencies with fire systems
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Campus Fire Marshal

Qualifications:

  • Valid Utah Drivers License
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Ability to climb ladders and carry 25 lbs
  • Good communication skills and work well with others
  • Work individually to carry out assignments
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours in the fall/spring semesters and maintain 12 credit hours while working
