Description:

The Lead Music Technology Technician reports to (and works closely with) the faculty Director of Music Technology, and is responsible for the technology in two facilities in the SUU Music Department: The Center for Music Technology (CMT), and Thorley Recital Hall (TRH). The Lead Music Technology Technician oversees all of the student lab technicians, and is responsible for scheduling workers to cover both the CMT and TRH during the school year. The Lead Music Technology Technician will serve as both a technology tutor for lab techs and students using the lab, and as a technician to maintain and update the software and hardware as directed. As the director of lab techs, the Lead Music Technology Technician represents the first line of security for the CMT. Technicians carefully monitor the door to the CMT, and are aware of who is present in the building.

Qualifications:

Prior music technology training or experience is required, especially in the areas of notation and recording software, and video editing software. Along with the faculty Director of Music Technology, the Lead Music Technology Technician will train other technicians to use notation software and digital audio software
