Description:
Location: Fishlake National Forest Supervisors Office, Richfield, Utah
Description: This is a data entry and data verification position working with recreation data on the Fishlake National Forest. Primary duties involve working on a spreadsheet that will be used to update and standardize information on the Fishlake National Forest’s website, recreation.gov, and internal databases.
Applicant would work with several spreadsheets that have been developed showing the current status of recreation data as it is currently exists on Fishlake’s website, recreation.gov and internal databases. Applicant would then verify and edit data from these spreadsheets and will enter the results into a standardized spreadsheet that has been developed to documents work done and changes that need to be made. Work will not be done to the datasets or databases themselves, rather work will be recorded on a spreadsheet which in turn will be sent to the Regional Office where the changes will be implemented.
Data that will need to be verified includes field data for recreation sites such as site names, descriptions, directions to get to the sites, and geographic locations (latitude and longitude). In several cases the site information varies slightly between the datasets and these differences needs to be standardized. Also, descriptions of the sites and directions to them need to be clear or added if missing. Latitude and Longitude listed for the sites needs to be examined and entered for the entrance of each site.
Housing: Government housing is not available.
Qualifications:
Applicant need to be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word. Applicant needs organization skills and be detail oriented. GIS experience would be helpful but not needed.
