Description:

The Night Manager for the Sharwan Smith Student Center is responsible for the evening functions that occur in the student center. Responsibility #1 Serves as the customer relations representative for evening events held in the Sharwan Smith Student Center  Greets each group sponsoring an event prior to event start to ensure that set-up is correct and if there are any additional needs that need to be taken care of.  Is easily accessible throughout event and has provided the group with his/her contact information.  Serves as support for the Audio/Visual Tech at events or runs Audio/Visual.  Serves as contact and event supervisor for low risk Student Programming Board (SPB) and club sponsored evening events.  Reviews weekly Sharwan Smith Student Center schedule to plan for events and meetings held after 5 pm.  Checks in and out equipment to SUU students (pool, ping pong, board games, etc.)

Responsibility #2  Does checks of the building every half hour.  Refers to campus safety if needed.  Locks rooms and turns lights off at end of shift and end of each event.  Reviews weekly schedule of Sharwan Smith Student Center reservations and regulates use of rooms with Director. Responsibility #3  Completes a night manager report (checklist) and e-mails supervisor if needed prior to leaving from shift Responsibility #4  Performs other duties, as assigned, by Director.

Qualifications:

Strong customer service skills, mature and able to handle stressful situations. Can clearly communicate building procedures and policies while being respectful to the campus community. Experience in Audio/Visual Tech and security preferred but not required.
