Location: Cedar City

Overview:

Assist the CCFO with a full range of recreation management activities within Beaver and Iron County. The focus will be directed primarily towards maintaining and monitoring recreation facilities, collecting visitor use data, maintaining and constructing mountain bike trails and monitoring Wilderness Study Areas. Interns will gain experience in the following areas: Use of Trafx Counters-(visitor use data), trail maintenance and construction, recreation facility maintenance, Special Recreation Permit processing, GIS and GPS data collection and data management. No housing will be provided

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collect Trafx Counter-(use data)
  • Trail maintenance and construction
  • Recreation facility maintenance

Qualifications:

  1. Good communication and interpersonal skills
  2. Experience working outdoors
  3. Ability to navigate across landscapes with the use of map and GPS
  4. Able to operate 4-wheel drive vehicle comfortably in rough terrain.
