Overview:
The primary duties of this position would be working with the Visitor Services primarily located at Jacob Lake. Housing is available.
Position Responsibilities:
Description: The primary duties of this position would be staffing the Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center, answering visitor inquiries, selling Grand Canyon Association gifts and mementos, accounting for funds, refilling pamphlets, cleaning the facility, and development and implementation of campground-based Interpretive programs relevant to the region. Other duties to be performed including, but not limited to, occasional outdoor work which would require bending, lifting, and hiking, including grounds maintenance, assisting with developed recreation and trails projects.
Qualifications:
A charismatic individual with customer service skills and a broad knowledge base of regional geology, native tribes, ecology, history, etc. They will be approachable, friendly, excellent in communication and eager to learn and disseminate information to the public in a meaningful way. They will be hard-working, with a common sense approach to problem-solving and a willingness to serve the public. They will have attention to detail and a desire to learn and know more about the Kaibab Plateau, Grand Canyon, and the region.
