Description:

Summer Housing Assistants are responsible for day-to-day summer Housing operations. This is a student, live-in, temporary positions during the summer months only (May 5, 2019 through August 11, 2019), with a mandatory team retreat in April. The position requires an average commitment of twenty hours per week with some weeks requiring more than twenty hours. Summer Housing Assistants report directly to the Housing Coordinators tasked with summer conferencing and housing. This position requires on-call duty rotation as well as significant evening and weekend work. Other summer time commitments, including classes and outside employment, will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine hiring eligibility. Qualifications:

Essential Functions of Housing Assistants: 1. Attend mandatory team retreat in April. 2. Attend mandatory training the week of May 6th. 3. Attend weekly staff meetings and one-on-one meetings with the coordinators as necessary. 4. Provide excellent customer service to conference guests staying at SUU. 5. Help build a community for SUU students who are summer residents of University Housing. 6. Participate in an on-call rotation using the correct protocols and procedures laid out by University Housing. 7. Collaborate with summer housing coordinators, other summer assistants, and the office of summer business as needed. 8. Make room keys, and update them as necessary. 9. Communicate appropriately with summer housekeeping staff. 10. Facilitate and assist with check in/out for summer guests and summer students. 11. Work regular office hours in the Main Eccles A housing office to assist the professional housing staff members, which includes facilitating University Housing tours to prospective students. 12. Facilitate one activity a month in accordance with the summer activity model for summer students. 13. All other duties as assigned.
