Overview:
Challenge yourself as a member of conservation crew while conducting career oriented work in relation to natural resources and outdoor recreation in some of the most beautiful places in the region! As a Crew Member, you will be participating in a college-aged crew focused on re-vegetation, facilities maintenance, restoration, wildlife, recreation, and other exciting projects. Through this experiential learning internship, students will develop a connection to place, become engaged citizens of their community, and stewards of the land. No housing is provided. 4 positions available.
Position Responsibilities:
- Commitment to safety and completion of assigned projects.
- Follow assigned tasks correctly and in timely manner.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations as stated in the IIC Intern Guidebook.
- Work 10 hour days outside in a variety of weather and terrain.
- Be respectful and considerate to all team members, land managers and visitors.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years or older with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Outdoor recreation, natural resource, and maintenance experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with trail building, fencing, and revegetation.
Have a positive attitude, flexibility and commitment to the program for the entire season.
Basic knowledge of tools, ability to lift 25 lbs. minimum, and able to hike long distances.
