Schedule: Interns must be available to work full time (80 hrs/2 weeks) from May 13th through the start of the Fall 2019 semester. This position will require working at least some weekend, holiday, and evening shifts.

Overview:
The summer education staff is based out of the Zion Nature Center in Zion Canyon, where ranger programs, activities, and interactive displays are offered from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The position is developmental in nature, though the intern has opportunities to take on greater responsibilities according to ability and desire. Interns will be responsible for staffing the front information desk at the Nature Center, conducting an interactive junior ranger table at the park’s busy visitor center, and conducting “drop-in” programs throughout Zion Canyon.
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather from wind and rain to sun and heat. Work involves standing for long periods of time and walking over rough and uneven terrain.
Housing is not available for this position.
Position Responsibilities:
- Staffing the front desk at the Nature Center
- Conducting your programs in both the Nature Center and in the park
- Hiking park trails to interact with visitors
- Swearing in Junior Rangers
- Assisting with the overall operations of the Zion Youth Program
