Schedule:Intern will work 40 hrs/week. Some work might include weekends and holidays.

Overview:

The incumbent serves as a Commercial Services Planning / Administration intern within the Zion Office of Commercial Services and Partnerships (three to four days per week) and the Zion Division of Administration (one to two days per week).

Housing is not available for this position.

*Position Responsibilities:

  • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting use and parking data for Commercial Tour Buses. Communicating park messaging and parking instructions to tour bus operators in the field.
  • Collecting, sorting, filing, and summarizing information on historic commercial tour operations and special park uses within Zion National Park.
  • Assisting with visitor use management data collection as assigned.
  • Assisting with traffic control and other visitor use management duties as assigned.
  • Assisting with the administration of government-owned property.
  • Assisting with data entry and data management.
  • Providing general administrative support as assigned.

Qualifications:

Consideration will be given to applicants that have good customer service and interpersonal skills, enjoy working with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds, possess good organizational skills, are detail oriented, and have a proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Applicants that possess the skills mentioned above and who are pursuing a degree in fields related to park and recreation management, business administration/economics, environmental studies, history, and transportation engineering will be given strongest consideration.
