Description:

The Summer Housekeeper is an integral part of the Summer Conference operation. The Summer Housekeeper's work together to prepare the residential rooms and other spaces in Housing for Conference guests. Housekeeping tasks include but are not limited to: deep cleaning, linen distribution, and general preparation of buildings for Summer Conferences. Basic duties include: Attend training and required staff meetings; Deep clean apartments at the beginning and end of summer business; clean carpets with carpet cleaning machine; move furniture as needed; Clean apartments and make up beds before guests arrive and after they depart. Including, but not limited to: cleaning sinks, toilets, showers, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping dirty linens, distributing clean linens, making beds (including bunk beds). Time Off: Full Summer Hourly Employees may be allowed up to 5 days off during the summer, though not necessarily consecutively (in addition to regularly scheduled days off). No time off should be expected on the required days that are listed. Black Out Dates are: July 30 - August 17th. If you accept a Full Summer Hourly Housekeeping position, you may not work for another SUU department concurrently, as this would exceed the maximum required hours allowed by University policy.

Qualifications:

The requirements of this position are not compatible with summer classes. Therefore, preference in hiring will be given to students who are not taking summer classes (on-line classes taken on one's own time are okay). Requirements: Must currently be enrolled as a student at SUU; Be at least 18 years of age by May 3, 2019; Must be physically able to perform housekeeping tasks, which include moving furniture for long periods of time; Exhibit a solid work ethic; Be able to work professionally with others; Demonstrate ability to work independently of a supervisor; Good communication skills; Positive attitude about Southern Utah University; Integrity, Responsibility, Accountability, Organization, Time Management Skills.
Availability to work the entire summer contract: Full Summer Hourly Employees: May 4, 2019 to August 17, 2019 Temporary Summer Employees: May 6, 2019 to May 17, 2019 Required Days for Full Summer Hourly Positions: Saturday, May 4, 11:00 am to 5 pm Saturday, June 22, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday, July 13, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday, July 14, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm standby Saturday, July 20, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday, July 21, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm standby

Required Days for Temporary Summer Positions: May 6 thru May 17 - Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm July 19 thru August 9, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
