Description:

This Student Intern position is customer service based and is responsible for ensuring the quality of information going out of our office. Student Interns will provide helpful, appropriate, and accurate information about available financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements and will be responsible for communicating highly detailed financial aid information to fellow students, parents, as well as SUU employees.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current SUU work-study eligible student
  • Excellent customer service skills, maintaining confidentiality and a friendly, positive demeanor, even in difficult or demanding situations
  • Skilled in the use of personal computers required
  • Record keeping and word processing essential
  • Ability to maintain confidences and work cooperatively with students, parents, faculty, and staff
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Initiative to learn the needed financial aid information quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work under pressure in high-stress situations and a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Strong initiative and work ethic, demonstrating integrity and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the Banner System is preferred
