Description:

Looking for qualified candidates to work as math tutors in the Learning Center at Cedar High School. We will be holding a morning math lab M-T/Th-F, after school tutoring Tues/Thur, and evening tutoring Mon-Thurs. Duties include homework help and tutoring for math/science students grades 6-12, serving as a STEM “mentor” that students can look up to and seek advice from, setting up and taking down of the tutoring center equipment and advertising materials, assisting with monthly incentives focused on increasing student attendance, and communicating issues, ideas, and important information with the Tutoring Center Manager. Available shifts are M-T/Th-F 10:20-11:20 am, T/Th 2:30-5:00 pm, M-Th 6:00-9:00 pm

Qualifications:

  • Current SUU student pursuing a STEM degree, STEM Education students will be given preference
  • Must be able to work shifts that will give a minimum of 5 hours per week, ability to work morning shifts will be given additional preference
  • Recommended to have taken and completed MATH 1210 (Calculus I)
  • Comfort with teaching and/or researching a wide range of high school math subjects
  • Must be able to pass a background check through ICSD
  • Dependable and punctual, friendly, good communication skills a must
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and neat, professional appearance
