Description:

Work under the direction of the Rural Rapid Manufacturing Grant through Southern Utah University in the SUU Thunderworks Makerspace
Primary duties:

  • Reach out to local industry offering 3D Printing support and document
  • Work as a collective team with Dustless Technologies attending online meetings bi-weekly
  • Support SUU Thunderworks Makerspace in all 3D printing needs and document
  • Plan, advertise and conduct one 3D printing workshop per semester

Secondary duties:

  • Managing the use of tools and equipment
  • Managing the manufacturing equipment schedule
  • Certifying manufacturing students’ users in tool operation
  • Developing safety protocols and training
  • Moving and arranging equipment in the manufacturing lab as needed
  • Assisting classes working in the manufacturing lab
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment as needed

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with power tools and hand tools
  • Ability to read technical instructions and operation manuals to learn to operate equipment
  • Safely lift 50 pounds
  • Proficient with a solid modeling software
  • Proficient with word processors, spreadsheets and presentation software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with computer engineering and electronics
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Experience with 3-Axis CNC machines
  • Experience with laser engravers/cutters
  • Woodworking experience
  • Metalworking experience
  • Basic understanding of circuits and soldering
