Description:

This position requires basic administrative duties to assist with the mission of Guest Services. These duties include, but are not limited to, incoming and outgoing phone calls and email relating to the scheduling of events on campus. The student will be responsible for scheduling both on and off campus groups requesting use of SUU's facilities and grounds. This is done through the Astra Scheduling software. Some basic Quickbooks will be used for the billing of events. Communication will be a large part of the job, as the student will be communicating frequently with multiple departments and individuals across campus and the community.

Note: Interviews will be conducted the week after finals and successful candidate will be expected to start upon hiring.

Qualifications:

Successful candidate must be well organized, detail oriented and dependable, with a strong commitment to exceptional customer service. Must be able to work well with SUU administration, faculty, staff, student peers and community members. Must be pleasant and demonstrate good problem solving skills. Requires good verbal and written communication skills, including attention to spelling and grammar. Must be able to take direction from supervisor and work independently, yet also contribute as a valued team member. A professional mannerism and dress is essential in this professional setting. Must demonstrate ability to see a project from start to finish, while working in a fast paced, often high stress office. Must have good time management skills, and be able to successfully oversee multiple projects at one time. Must be able to meet deadlines. Should have a basic knowledge of campus facilities and departments. Must possess professional phone skills. Familiar with gmail and other basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Calendar and Docs. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must be willing and able to learn Astra scheduling program and basic Quickbooks.
