DESCRIPTION: Upon approval from faculty supervisor, the student will:
1.) Supervise and review cadaver dissections performed by Cadaver Practicum (BIOL3230) students.
2.) Perform skilled/advanced dissections upon the cadavers as is necessary.
3.) Perform teaching assistant duties in select Human anatomy labs (BIOL 2325), Human Physiology Labs (BIOL 2425).
4.) Maintain a reflective journal of daily activities conducted within the Cadaver Anatomy lab and at the student’s workplace. Entries will focus on learning skills and competencies that will be a direct asset to the intern’s future graduate program of study, and a direct asset and connection with the student's current employment off-campus.
5.) Not exceed 20 hours per week performing internship duties.
6.) Author a final paper that summarizes the most relevant experiences performed during the internship.
7.) Establish networking contacts with site visitations at the University of Utah Medical School/Cadaver program if possible. This relationship will allow the intern to gain insight into the University’s Medical school and foster the continuing collegial relationship that the Anatomy/Physiology department has with them.
8.) Be enrolled in 12 credit hours this summer with at least 6 ICH face to face.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of Human anatomy labs (BIOL 2325), Human Physiology Labs (BIOL 2425).
