Description:

These positions will work closely with the STIL office in creating and implementing student experiences for the summer months. There will be 40+ events hosted through the Student Involvement and Leadership Office and these events will be designed and executed through these four students who then report and work closely with the Assistant Director for Student Involvement and Leadership(STIL) and the Student Programming Board President. These positions will be able to learn hands on experiences that could help them chase their dreams and passions of being an event planner in their later career.

Qualifications:

This position requires that students are enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits in face-to-face courses here at Southern Utah University (SUU) for the full summer session. Online courses and internship credits will not count.

These positions are only for undergraduate students. Graduate students are not eligible for these positions.

To be eligible for this position:Experience in overseeing large scale events.Must possess excellent relational skills, emotional stability, and personal maturity. Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work with different campus constituencies. A commitment to all students and their total development, both curricular and co-curricular. Demonstrated ability to interact with and relate to a diverse student population. Strong oral and written skills. Demonstrated organizational, leadership, and public relations skills. Must be able to lead, motivate, and inspire students. Capable of organizing a wide range of diverse tasks and activities efficiently and effectively. Capable of establishing and maintaining effective, cooperative working relationships with various campus and community constituents. Experience in student programming, and/or student organization advising. Experience planning and implementing campus programming. Ability to work with students, faculty, staff and administrative personnel. Understanding of student needs and growth. Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality in records and communication. Enthusiasm for working with all students.
