Description:
This internship position would last the duration of the summer semester and is available to any student enrolled in at least 3 credit hours on campus during the summer.
Under the direction of the Manager of Marketing and Communication, the Marketing Intern at Southern Utah Museum of Art will assist in efforts to promote exhibitions, programs, and SUMA’s brand. This position offers opportunities to learn multiple aspects of marketing including, but not limited to, media relations, social media, advertising, and event management.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Draft media materials including press releases, pitches, media alerts, and event recaps
Draft and distribute monthly event and exhibition listings
Build and maintain media distribution lists for local, regional, and industry media
Draft special email campaigns for specific programs and exhibition announcements
Contribute ideas, draft copy, and gather images for Facebook and Instagram
Assist in campus and community poster distributions
Complete weekly and monthly marketing, PR, and social media reports
Assist with marketing events and other community relations initiatives
Internship credit may be available.
Qualifications:
Candidate must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, excel in basic Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications, and show a history of punctuality, professionalism, and follow through.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience writing in marketing language, such as experience writing press releases, media alerts, event recaps, social media reports, email campaigns, or other experience in public relations
Experience with social media
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
