Description:
The Thunderworks Innovation Center seeks an intern to work alongside its creative team on various aspects of marketing, advertising, and community outreach for the SUU Makerspace. The intern will work closely with the design director and other visual team members to work on a wide range of projects and media including Print, 3D, Motion, Video, and Web Design projects. This is a deadline-driven position with very flexible hours and the chance to take a lead role in a variety of highly visible design projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials, including posters, flyers, social media ads, banners, and various other print projects for special events.
- Create digital graphics and content for the Thunderworks website as well as the online training shell
- Work closely with videographers to create static and motion graphics for training and promotional videos
- Contribute ideas to help meet the outreach goals of the Makerspace and Thunderworks Innovation Center
- Follow and help develop design parameters and stylistic guidelines consistent with the Thunderworks brand
- Ensure that Thunderworks marketing content is visually, intellectually, and physically accessible to the widest possible audience

Qualifications:
- Students are required to be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits in face-to-face summer courses at SUU. Internship classes or online classes do not qualify for this position
- Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is a must for this position
- Ability to deliver high-quality products on specific deadlines while working independently is a must
- Motion graphics and video editing experience/interest a plus
- Understanding of graphic production for the web and web development skills a plus
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills a must
- Intern must be able to identify and solve problems on their own
- Interest in Makerspace related activities is a huge plus and you will have access to 3D printers, laser engraver/cutter, welding, woodworking, and electronics equipment
