Description:

  • Dates of Employment: Summer Intern: 4/27/20-9/11/20
  • Working with the Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) grant, and other grants specific for non-traditional students preparation and research
  • Research child care center licensing with the state of Utah, USDA food program
  • Write a child care business plan-Unit Effectiveness Plan
  • Prepare for the opening of the child care facility
  • Assist with developing policies and procedures, organizational plan and budgeting operations
  • Create a social media campaign, marketing collateral; create provider and student-parent tour
  • Assist with the hiring process of student workers and non-student workers
  • Scheduling of background checks, fingerprinting, and food handlers’ permits
  • Assist with the training program on Canvas
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Dedicated, hardworking individual who is enthusiastic in demonstrating the superior customer service skills as well as ensuring the success and retention of non-traditional students. Ability to articulate ideas and facts and be informative to others about the programs offered. Demonstrate a sincere concern for others and their well-being. Ability to speak in a positive, engaging, interactive manner. Ability to function in a group, both as a leader and a supportive team member. Computer and word processing skills with efficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word) with ability to create/design advertising materials Excellent people and communication skills, as well as technical writing skills.

On-campus jobs/internship

Student will be required to be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits in face-to-face courses for Summer 2020. Online courses do not quality. Additionally, any internship credits that a student is enrolled in will not count toward the 3 credits of face-to-face instruction. Employment Dates: April 27, 2020 - September 11, 2020.

If a student falls below 3 credits or withdraws from their face-to-face course, the position may be terminated. The money for their position is contingent upon being enrolled in 3 credits, delivered face-to-face. These monies are only for undergraduate students. Graduate students are not eligible for these positions.
