Description:
Seeking motivated, organized, compassionate experienced university students to peer mentor students of the disability resource center. Student peer mentors meet with student mentees weekly and offer them academic skill coaching and goal-setting advisement, professional development guidance as well as campus resource, time management, and study strategy instruction. Student peer mentors work between the hours of 8:00-5:00 pm, meet with mentees on campus and generally create their own schedule, however, work approximately 6-10 hours each week. Position includes mentor meeting documentation and record-keeping, attendance at trainings workshops and regular appointments with the DRC grant coordinator.
Qualifications:
Peer mentors are expected to have/maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA. Qualifications include; academic competence, compassion, problem-solving, attentive listening, excellent communicator, organization and an understanding of available campus resources and soft skill instruction.
