THE COMPASS PROGRAM is seeking Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) to support cohorts of approximately 25 first-year students who are provisionally admitted. As a PAC, you meet with students during bi-weekly 30-minute appointments and serve as a teaching assistant for SUU 1050: College Student Success. https://www.suu.edu/academicsuccess/compass/
THE ACADEMIC RECOVERY PROGRAM is seeking Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) to support cohorts of 20-30 students on Academic Probation. As a PAC, you meet with students during individual and/or small group coaching sessions and serve as a teaching assistant for SUU 1020: Academic Recovery. https://www.suu.edu/academicsuccess/academicrecovery/
PACs assist students as they develop and strengthen skills that promote resilience, confidence, and self-directed learning. Such skills include…
- Clarifying academic goals and practical steps towards achieving these goals
- Building motivation, self-confidence, and accountability,
- Implementing routines for organization and time management,
- Strengthening study skills (i.e. reading comprehension, note-taking, review, and test-taking strategies),
- Accessing resources, and
- Adapting to new challenges.

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Sophomore status or higher
- 3.25 GPA or higher
- Full-time student at SUU
- Minimum of one semester completed at SUU prior to Summer 2020
- FERPA training and certification required upon hire
- Secondary Education majors desired
