Description:

The Advancement & Enrollment Management Department is seeking a student employee for the Videographer Student Worker position. They would be a significant ambassador of Southern Utah University that is responsible for assisting in advancing the growth of SUU's online and graduate programs through high-quality video content.

Much of the assistant's time will be spent operating video cameras, recording video content, setting up & operating production equipment, editing video and audio, and scripting video content. The Videographer will also assist with generating video ideas and developing growth strategies as required. The position requires a proactive approach, a passion for videography, and a love for SUU. Previous filming and editing experience are required. To properly achieve results, it is required that the Videographer work at least 20 hours a week during the academic year and 32-40 hours a week during the summer semester.

The videographer should be highly motivated, have a professional demeanor, and have strong communication skills when interacting with potential students, staff, faculty, and administration; they should be inclined to work with a high level of engagement in a professional office.

Qualifications:

  • Hold the university in great esteem.
  • Know the benefits of higher education on employment and personal achievement.
  • Ability to maintain, operate, troubleshoot, and repair audio and video equipment.
  • Ability to set-up and operate studio/field audio, lighting, and production equipment
  • Proficiency with Adobe video editing software
  • Portfolio of successful video content
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills to accurately and ethically convey university information as described above.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and perform tasks independently.
  • Must be student-oriented and have the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
