Description:

The Administrative Systems team in the Office of Data Analytics is seeking a student programmer to assist with various web applications. It usually takes months of training for our student programmers to start making meaningful progress on projects, so we are looking for highly motivated, self-starting individuals that are eager for real-world programming experience and are capable of getting up-to-speed quickly.

This position gives you the opportunity to work with web application frameworks, Git source control, agile software development methodologies, and continuous deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Science major (or similar)
  • Understanding of programming and web development concepts
  • Ability to convert user requirements into simple, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • A will to learn, collaborate and work on a project to completion
  • Ability and willingness to learn new languages and technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to ask questions
  • Preferred: experience with Django, Python, Git, and Linux
