THE COMPASS PROGRAM is seeking Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) to support cohorts of approximately 35 first-year students who are provisionally admitted. As a PAC, you meet with students during bi-weekly 30-minute appointments and serve as a teaching assistant for face-to-face SUU 1050:College Student Success classes.
THE ACADEMIC RECOVERY PROGRAM is seeking Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) to support cohorts of approximately 35 students on Academic Probation. As a PAC, you meet with students during individual and/or small group coaching sessions and serve as a teaching assistant for face-to-face or online SUU 1060:Academic Wellness classes.
PACs assist students as they develop and strengthen skills that promote resilience, confidence, and self-directed learning. Such skills include:
- Clarifying academic goals and practical steps towards achieving these goals
- Building motivation, self-confidence, and accountability,
- Implementing routines for organization and time management,
- Strengthening study skills (i.e. reading comprehension, note-taking, review, and test-taking strategies),
- Accessing resources, and
- Adapting to new challenges.

Qualifications:
- Sophomore status or higher
- 3.00 GPA or higher
- Full-time student at SUU
- Minimum of one semester completed at SUU prior to Summer 2022
- FERPA training and certification required upon hire
- Secondary Education majors desired
