Description:

At the SUU Help Desk you will be responsible for providing entry level technical assistance and customer support to your fellow students as well as SUU faculty and staff over the phone or in person. You will be providing entry level technical support related to computer systems, hardware, or software in the SUU computer labs. You will also be responding to technical questions and implementing possible solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic technical assistance and support for incoming questions and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware in the SUU computer labs.
  • Provide support for computer lab related questions.
  • Answer phones and open IT support tickets.
  • Respond to IT related questions in person or over the phone.
  • Reset account passwords.
  • Help students, faculty and staff connect devices to the campus wi-fi.
  • Replace paper in lab printers.
  • Fix paper jams in lab printers.
  • Walk customers through problem-solving processes in person or over the phone.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure the issue has been resolved.

Note: You will be required to work nights and weekends

Qualifications:

  • Great communication skills.
  • Great phone skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Basic PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of tablets and smartphones.
  • Basic knowledge of printers is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of wi-fi is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting Mac computers is a plus.
  • Must be available to work nights and weekends.
