The Cedar City Chamber of Commerce is an organization dedicated to helping businesses thrive and grow. We accomplish this by providing people with opportunities to make valuable connections, offering insight into economic conditions, learning about challenges, addressing the needs of businesses, providing tools and connecting business owners with resources that can help them improve their business, offer marketing opportunities, and provide legislative advocacy to ensure policies are pro-business. The Cedar City Chamber of Commerce is located in the SUU Business Center suite at the Cedar City Business & Innovation Center. This position is off campus.
As a member of our team, you would help the Chamber expand its digital footprint by identifying ways to enhance their social media presence and produce short videos to promote our events, travel program, and provide additional exposure for businesses in the area. In this role you would help identify target audiences for our services and programs and develop a plan to achieve these objectives.
This is an ideal position for a Business, Communications, or Marketing Major student with some earned college credit/experience in those fields. The ideal candidate will have experience with video production and editing, social media marketing, and be able to identify and develop a plan to reach target markets.
Description:
Create and implement a marketing strategy for the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce
Identify target markets for each of the Chamber's events and programs
Ensure the Chamber's brand identity is consistent across all marketing platforms
Improve the Chamber's social media presence
Set up a TikTok account for the Chamber
Determine which paid ads would be most effective
Produce videos for Chamber events
Produce videos for our resource partners - SBDC, WBC, etc.
* Produce videos featuring Chamber member businesses.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in video production and editing
- Experience in social media marketing
- Organization skills: must be able to manage multiple projects at once, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools, such as social media platforms and analytics
