Description:

The student House Manager plays a vital role within the Guest Services department. He/She is responsible for overseeing on campus events outside of regular office hours, under the supervision of Guest Services. The individual will work closely with Guest Services staff, including event coordinators and Centralized Scheduling assistants. The House Manager is is responsible for providing exceptional customer service during events scheduled before 8am and after 5pm (Monday through Friday), some weekends, including some Sundays and campus holidays, when needed.

Direct responsibilities include, but are not limited to: explain, interpret and enforce general scheduling and facilities policies and procedures provide for the safety and security of events and event patrons provide a high level of customer services to all guests, mainly in the Hunter Alumni Center on campus Position requires a flexible work schedule and the ability/willingness to work nights, weekends and some holidays, as needed.
Work schedule is based on scheduled events and will vary from week to week.
Most weeks the schedule will require working 15-20 hours during the school year.
* During the summer and school breaks there may be opportunities to work more hours.

Qualifications:

  • Successful candidate must have strong customer service skills and the ability to problem solve under pressure.
  • Must be personable and get along well with others.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must possess a professional demeanor and professional dress.
  • Proficient in email, Google calendar, Docs and sheets, Microsoft office, including Word.
  • Flexible evening and weekend schedule.
  • Must be able to take direction from supervisors.
