THE COMPASS PROGRAM is seeking Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) to support cohorts of approximately 35 first-year students who are provisionally admitted. As a PAC, you meet with students during bi-weekly 30-minute coaching sessions and serve as a teaching assistant for face-to-face SUU 1050: College Student Success classes.
THE ACADEMIC RECOVERY PROGRAM is seeking Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) to support cohorts of approximately 35 students on Academic Probation. As a PAC, you meet with students during monthly individual coaching sessions and serve as a teaching assistant for face-to-face or online SUU 1060: Academic Wellness classes.
PACs assist students as they develop and strengthen skills that promote resilience, confidence, and self-directed learning. Such skills include:

Clarifying academic goals and practical steps towards achieving these goals

Building motivation, self-confidence, and accountability
-
Implementing routines for organization and time management
-
Strengthening study skills (i.e. reading comprehension, note-taking, review, and test-taking strategies)

Accessing resources
-
Adapting to new challenges.

Qualifications:

Sophomore status or higher
-
3.00 GPA or higher
-
Full-time student at SUU
-
Minimum of one semester completed at SUU prior to Fall 2024
