Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Design, the Graphic Designer at Southern Utah Museum of Art will assist in efforts to promote exhibitions, programs, and SUMA’s brand. This position offers opportunities to learn multiple aspects of marketing design including, but not limited to, advertising, typography, promotional media, social media and digital marketing, and colorology.

General Duties & Responsibilities Create promotional materials for SUMA programming and exhibitions including posters, flyers, digital signage, social media graphics, and digital media materials Collaborate with Director of Marketing & Design to apply exhibition and program identities Adhere to proper usage of SUMA brand style guides Conceptualize visuals based on requirements, presenting rough drafts and ideas Work with other SUMA staff to ensure all important information is included and displayed effectively and in an aesthetically pleasing manner Amend designs after feedback in a timely manner * Prepare and send files ready for print

Qualifications:

  • Studying Graphic Design in the Department of Filmmaking, Art, and Design
  • Strong experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications Marketing and advertising experience or coursework * Familiarity with Google Drive *Demonstrated photography skills and familiarity with photo editing software
