Description:
The Department of Aviation Sciences is seeking two students to serve as course graders, and to assist with day-to-day operations within the department. The primary role of these positions is to assist the faculty with grading the academic course work of undergraduate aviation students, which will include grading exams, written assignments, discussion boards, and other work produced by students. In addition, these positions will assist with office duties and perform tasks associated with academic requirements of the department. These employees will facilitate various needs between campus operations and airport operations. These employees will communicate over the phone, by email, and in-person with faculty, staff, and students.
Qualifications:
- Strong academic background. The students in these positions will be helping to grade other students’ academic work and must have a solid background themselves relative to achievement in the classroom.
- Willingness to learn. Students must be able to familiarize themselves with content and subject matter of the courses for which they are serving as graders
- Customer Services experience, particularly in the phone, through email, and face-to-face
- Must possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated to work independently or on a team
- Comfort and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Canvas is a plus.
- Prior experience working in an office environment is a plus
- Position is open to all majors, though preference may be given to aviation sciences majors, and/or students interested in teaching
- Students MUST be Work Study eligible
