Description:
Southern Utah University's Department of Filmmaking, Art and Design is seeking dependable and confident individuals to fill the position of art model. This job posting is for the Fall 2024 semester. As an art model, you will work with art students to bring their creative visions to life through the rendering of illustrations. Art Models will be responsible for posing draped (clothed) or undraped (nude) and will have the choice of applying for either one, according to their preference. They should be able to hold poses for as short as 30 seconds to as long as the duration of the class period.

Responsibilities:
Pose draped (clothed) or undraped (nude) as requested by the instructor or model coordinator
Hold poses for long periods of time while art students render illustrations image(s) onto mediums such as paper, canvas, etc.
Follow instruction and guidance of the instructor for poses and positioning
Demonstrate body awareness and the ability to twist, turn, bend and accentuate the 3-dimensional qualities of the human figure in poses
Provide a friendly and professional demeanor, with a patient and respectful attitude towards others
Qualifications:
Experience with modeling, theater, acting, yoga, dancing, or other physical training that requires coordination and performance is preferred
Confidence in posing and holding still for extended periods of time
Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting, lying down, etc.)
Must be at least 18 years old and an SUU student (at least 6 credit hours)
Must be punctual and consistently reliable
Working Conditions:
Models will work in an indoor studio setting under the supervision of the class instructor during class hours
Models will be provided a short break after holding the same poses
Models expected work hours are generally scheduled in 2-hour blocks
