Description:

The International Student Services Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the needs of international students at Southern Utah University. This position involves managing front desk operations, handling confidential information, and assisting with a variety of administrative and technical tasks. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, highly organized individual capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment. 20 hours per week during open hours Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities:

Front Desk Operations:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for international students and visitors at the front desk.
  • Provide information, answer inquiries, and direct students to appropriate resources.
  • Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

Confidential Information Handling:

  • Manage and safeguard sensitive and confidential student information in compliance with institutional policies and legal regulations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and secure storage of personal and academic records.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain and update spreadsheets to track student information, and other relevant data.
  • Create and manage PowerPoint presentations for workshops, meetings, and other events.
  • Assist in preparing and tracking employment documents for international students.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Take data generated through reports to prepare and create reports.

Online Course Management:

  • Assist in the mechanics and administration of the Graduate Online Course of Acculturation, including grading and providing support to students and instructors.
  • Ensure course materials are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Aid in the grading of in-person and online Acculturation courses.

Miscellaneous Tasks:

  • Perform additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned by the International Student Services Team Members.
  • Support the planning and execution of events, workshops, and orientation sessions for international students.
