Description:

The Student Office Assistants play a vital role in the daily operations of the SUU Police Department front counter. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional in various situations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage the front counter of the SUU Police Department.

  • Answer emergency and non-emergency phone calls and in-person inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Respond to department emails, including urgent and routine communications.

  • Schedule and manage fingerprinting and background check appointments.

  • Provide administrative support to the Administrative Assistant and the Chief of Police as needed.

  • Maintain a consistent presence on the department's social media platforms by creating and posting relevant content.

  • Offer friendly, helpful service to all individuals visiting or contacting the department.

Qualifications:

  • Pass a background check.
  • Work study eligible.
  • Must have strong customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google suites.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Overseeing fingerprinting process for students and staff.
  • Maintain an orderly reception area.
  • Maturity to work in a setting where confidentiality is essential.
  • Must have an eye for detail be self-motivated, and able to work without supervision.
  • Efficient with data entry.
  • Social Media/marketing experience (preferred).
