Description:

We have many GIS positions available. The majority of these positions include working with federal agency staff to review and update existing spatial data as well as the creation and maintenance of future spatial data. Although planned work will be conducted in a climate-controlled office or home office, opportunities for field work may become available. This work may be at urban parks or in rugged locations in a variety of weather conditions. Candidates should be generally comfortable working in such environment should the opportunity for field work become available.

Wage: $15 - $24 per hour, varying by position

Hours: 20-40 per week

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Duration: Varies by position

Estimated Start Date: 09/16/2025

Estimated End Date: Varies by position

Location: Remote opportunities and numerous National Park locations across the United States.

Qualifications:

Consideration will be given to applicants who have prior experience using ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. Candidates will be evaluated in their practical geospatial knowledge and skills including geodatabase design principles, editing and application of geospatial data, understanding of geographic reference systems, and geospatial data documentation (metadata). Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Python would be favorable skills. The positions require the ability to take initiative, communicate effectively, and work independently, as well as participate effectively in collaborative efforts.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident. Applicants must also be enrolled at an institution of higher education or within two years post-graduation. Applicants who have obtained or are pursuing a GIS degree or certificate and/or with GIS work experience are preferred. Prior to starting this position, a federal government security background clearance will be required.
