Description:

Assist the National Project Archaeology Operations and Professional Development Director with various clerical duties including digital filing, managing the online store, shipping book orders, scanning documents, coordinating meetings, responding to network emails, helping to plan and execute events and workshops, organizing the office and storage unit, edit documents, use Canva to produce printed and digital materials, update website content, and special projects as needed.

Project Archaeology is a national not-for-profit, heritage education program currently headquarted at SUU and supported by the Institute for Heritage Education and many other partners. The program provides high-quality professional development and produces award-winning curriculum to support K-12 educators while also promoting the protection of archaeological sites. The curriculum guides archaeological inquiry to foster understanding of past and present cultures; improve social studies and science education, and enhance citizenship education to help preserve our archaeological legacy.

Qualifications:

  • Students must be work-study eligible.
  • Valid drivers license and own transportation.
  • Be able to use programs like Canva and Google Suite.
  • Be responsible, organized, proactive and reliable.
  • Have exceptional customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor.
  • Have the ability to professionally handle confidential information.
  • Experience with event planning, graphic design, advertising, social media updates is preferred.
  • All majors considered, but history, anthropology, communications, interdisciplinary, and education majors are strongly encouraged to apply.
