Join the Thundervision Crew! and learn how to do work for television broadcasts, live sporting events, and University based live-streams!
An ideal candidate for this position would be either a Junior or Senior majoring in Communications, Film, or Graphic Design.
This position is responsible for working as part of a camera crew to provide high quality video coverage of assigned sporting events to feed the ThunderVision video boards in the Coliseum football stadium, America First Events Center Arena, streamed on ESPN+, and concert events live-streamed on Youtube. Typical duties include pulling and running cables and operating fixed or hand-held cameras.
Duties as assigned may include:
- Operating "Instant Replay" position, on-screen "graphics" position, and "scoreboard control" position.
- Must be prompt and on time to scheduled working events.
- This is an event based position, so you must have open availabilty as event days and times change weekly (FYI, most events happen in the evening hours or on weekends).
- Must be able to climb stairs.
- Must be able to carry TV cameras and tripods or other heavy equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be available starting as soon as possible.
- Must be available to work during the Fall semester, over holiday break from 12/12/25 through 1/7/26 and during Spring semester (also during Fall and Spring breaks).
Returning students can expect to continue working during the next academic year. Due to the variability of sports and event schedules, hours will vary week to week. However, experience in this position is incredibly valuable and will go a long way towards opening doors in a career in television, streaming, and sports broadcast!

Qualifications:
- Prompt and on-time to scheduled events (reliable transportation to work).
- Strong foundation with camera operation (Mirrorless, DSLR, or Camcorder).
- Strong foundation of proper camera exposure settings (Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO).
- Strong foundation and knowledge of athletic events (football, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, volleyball, and Track & Field).
- Basic knowledge of Musical Concert events and how to capture them on camera.
- Clean and organized with cable management.
- Basic knowledge of video editing software (Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects).
- Basic knowledge about live-streaming on youtube and other streaming services (ESPN+).
- Experience operating a Live Production Switcher board (not required, but a plus).
- Graphic design skills (not required but a plus).
- Technical Directing skills (not required, but a plus).
