Description:

Tutor struggling students at local elementary schools for approximately 12 hours per week during the regular school day (9:00 am-3:00 pm). This is under the direction of the individual school reading specialists.

There is also the option of working for AmeriCorps at the same time which allows you to make more money for the same job. America Reads members are the ONLY students that can be PAID to tutor AND receive an AmeriCorps Education Award when you complete 300 or 450 hours in ONE YEAR’S TIME!

Qualifications:

Interested applicants must clear a full Utah State Board of Education FBI background check. They should be proficient in reading and have an ability to work with students who struggle with reading. Preference will be given to previous employees and elementary education majors. Must have a 3.0 or higher cum GPA and qualify for work-study.
