Description:
The Leavitt Center is currently acceping applications for the Legislative Internship Program, which takes place during the first half of the Spring semester. Students sent from SUU will work in Salt Lake City on Capitol Hill as the only staff member of a State Legislator.
Work will include:
- Managing the Legislator's email and schedule
- Meeting and coordinating with constituents as well as lobbyists and assisting the Legislator with his or her official duties.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get on the ground floor of public policy, network with Utah's top officials and learn valuable skills beyond a classroom setting. Furthermore, the internship can be completed for 12 credit hours.
Qualifications:
Any major is invited to apply, as State Legislators come from a variety of fields and backgrounds. Students with 60 or more credits will be given preference, but underclassmen are still encouraged to apply. Please email lcintern@suu.edu for details about how to apply or with any questions.
