Description:

This internship is part of the Spring 2026 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.

This position will be an opportunity for a student to work 1 on 1 with a child ranging 1-4 years in age typically with some type of developmental delay. They will help the child by playing and interacting with them in the classroom setting. They will coordinate with the lead teacher to provide a safe and enriching learning experience for the child. If necessary, the intern will work with outside organizations like Early Intervention to work on developmental goals with the child.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a child in the 2-4 year old age group, offering one-on-one support and interaction in the classroom setting.
  • Assist in playing and engaging with the child to enhance their learning and development.
  • Coordinate effectively with the lead teacher and parents to ensure a safe and enriching learning experience for the child.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children
  • Good schedule availability within the hours of 8-1
