Description:

This internship is part of the Spring 2026 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.

The Political Science Research Intern will provide research assistance for a project related to public opinion in Europe. Major responsibilities will include cleaning data, writing literature reviews, data analysis (consistent with the student’s abilities) and general research assistance. The goal is to produce a publication-quality manuscript, with the intern included as a co-author.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning data
  • Writing literature reviews
  • Data analysis/Visualization (consistent with student's abilities/experience)
  • General research assistance

Qualifications:

  • Preference for students who have completed or are currently enrolled in POLS 2000 and 2005 (Research Methods in Political Science and its Lab component)
  • Willingness to engage with social science research
  • Desire to learn about process of academic publishing
  • Strong writing skills
