Description:

This position is responsible for staffing the Frehner Museum during the summer months and assisting with educational programming. Summer programming may include: field trips, museum events (Utah Museum Month, America 250, etc.), and community outreach events. Cedar City experiences peak tourist times during the summer months due to National Park proximity and the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Student employees represent the Frehner Museum and its mission while on the clock.

This student will perform daily operations in the museum such as opening and closing, greeting guests and answering questions, taking attendance, and working events. The museum will be open Thursday through Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM with opportunities to assist the manager with special projects on Wednesdays.

  • 10 - 15 hours per week
  • Wednesday - Saturday

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate pursuing a minor in museum studies OR
  • Undergraduate pursuing education, elementary education
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Comfortable working with the public, especially children
  • Public speaking skills
