Schedule During the summer 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:30pm. When fall semester starts we can reduce hours up to 20 hours per week.

Overview The Timber Support Assistant provides clerical and organizational support to staff within public land management offices. This position helps ensure smooth daily operations by assisting with document preparation and general administrative tasks. This role offers hands-on experience in office management and is ideal for students interested in administration or organizational management.

Things unique about this location/position * Data and document management with the Dixie National Forest.

Responsibilities:

Organize and maintain paper and electronic files, records, and logs. Support data entry, recordkeeping, and inventory tracking. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. Provide general support for office activities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be age 18+.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Incoming, current, or recent SUU students preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest or coursework in business, public administration, communications, or related fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or Cloud-Based tools.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in business, communication, or administration preferred.
