Ticket Office Internship – Guest Services and Ticketing

The Ticket Office Intern will gain hands-on experience in the daily operations of a professional performing arts ticket office, learning how to provide excellent customer service while supporting ticket sales and guest needs.This unique internship provides opportunities to develop professional skills in communication, problem-solving, organization, teamwork, leadership, and adaptability while working in a fast-paced environment serving patrons and supporting events.The intern will learn how a professional arts organization operates from behind the scenes while gaining valuable experience that can be applied to future careers in arts administration, customer service, event management, and other professional fields.

This internship is part of the Fall 2026 Professional Internship Program. To be eligible for the program you must:

Responsibilitie

  • Learn and perform ticket office duties, including professional phone etiquette, operating computerized ticketing software, processing ticket sales, exchanges and returns, handling money, and preparing ticket orders for mail or Will Call.
  • Assist with contacting and scheduling staff and volunteers, helping coordinate volunteer activities, and communicating information to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Serve as a welcoming point of assistance and information for guests, helping answer questions and resolve problems while maintaining a positive and professional customer experience.
  • Assist with season setup and cleanup, support daily ticket office operations, and demonstrate flexibility by taking on additional duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team.

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, outgoing, dependable, and professional, with a strong interest in working with people and providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new computer software and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, meet deadlines, adapt to changing needs, and maintain a positive attitude. Some evening and weekend work is required.
  • Be enrolled as an SUU student during the course of the internship.
  • Have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Be willing to work 10 to 20 hours per week.
