Description:

We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable Student Aviation Scheduling Assistants to join our operations team. In this role, you will be the front-line support for real-time scheduling adjustments, urgent coverage requests, and roster management across our operating hours.

This position offers flexible scheduling around your academic classes, valuable experience in logistics and operations management, and the opportunity to work in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Note that this position is located at the Cedar City Airport, where SUU School of Aviation is based. You will be responsible for your transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Real-Time Flight & Ground Response: Rapidly resolve immediate flight and ground block scheduling changes and coverage requests during assigned shifts.
  • Roster Maintenance: Monitor and align dual schedules for flight instructors and student pilots, ensuring compliance with availability, course syllabi timelines, and mandatory rest periods. Update live flight bookings and attendance records with high accuracy.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact, actively monitoring communications, phone channels, and logistics software to handle real-time scheduling.
  • Escalation Handling: Identify complex flight block scheduling conflicts or emergency staffing shortages and escalate them according to established team protocols.**

Schedule & Availability:

Shifts are assigned in 4-hour blocks:

Monday through Friday:

0500 – 0900 | 0845 –1300 | 1245 –1700 | 1645 –2100 | 2045 – 0100

Saturday:

0500 – 0900 | 0845 –1300 | 1245 –1700 (as needed) (Preference given to candidates willing to cover early morning, evening, or Saturday shifts).

Qualifications:

  • Current Student Status: Enrolled in at least half-time coursework at the university.
  • Customer Service and Problem-Solving Ability: Calm under pressure when addressing complex staffing gaps or urgent requests. Demonstrated ability to assist with high-level customer satisfaction in mind.
  • Strong Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with staff under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Attention to Detail: High accuracy when entering dates, times, and employee contact details in live systems.
  • Reliability: Proven record of punctuality and dependability. Prompt attendance during early morning (0500) or late-night (up to 0100) shifts is essential.
