Description:

The Human Resources Assistant will perform general receptionist and customer service duties including assisting guests, processing paperwork, answering phones and responding to emails. These duties involve the staff, faculty and students across campus. Processing paperwork and problem solving are critical to this role. Additional projects as assigned. This is not a remote position, in person attendance is mandatory.

Our office is open Monday - Friday 8am- 5pm. Please include your class schedule and availability Fall Semester.

Note: This position is to begin immediately, if possible with a start date no later than October 1st. Preference will be given to those that are Workstudy eligible and can work afternoon hours between 1pm and 5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by greeting visitors, answering multi-line phones, and responding to emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, and data entry to maintain organized department records.
  • Support coordination of departmental events, meetings, or workshops, ensuring smooth logistics and communication.
  • Manage inventory of office supplies, reorder materials as needed, and track departmental resources.
  • Troubleshoot basic office equipment and technical issues, such as scheduling software or audiovisual tools.
  • Handle inquiries and unexpected situations, providing timely and effective solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive department and student information.
  • Uphold professional standards of dress, conduct, and behavior, especially during high-traffic or busy times.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to contribute positively to team goals and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects at the same time and working with frequent distractions.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Must be registered for 6 or more credits in Fall 2026.
  • Previous customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Excel preferred.
  • Previous HR experience preferred, but not required.
  • Preference will be given to those that are Workstudy eligible.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently while completing assigned projects.
