Description:
The Idaho Bureau of Laboratories is seeking multiple laboratory technicians to serve as ground water field samplers. Incumbents in these positions must be able to work well independently.
Overnight travel will be required as some of the locations are outside the Boise region. Please note that these are temporary positions, set to start June 20, 2016 and expected to last a minimum of eight weeks. These positions may be scheduled to work up to 40 hours per week. Responsibilities:
Coordinate site sampling visits with private well property owners
Operate, calibrate and maintain the following field equipment: water level, pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen meters
Collect water quality samples for laboratory analysis
Complete field sampling notes
Travel to remote locations for sample collection
Follow Standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Good knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment, materials, procedures, and fundamental methods related to chemistry
Experience performing standardized laboratory tests according to written procedures
Experience calculating and recording test results
Experience maintaining equipment and keeping a clean and safe work environment
