Description:

  • Help reach out to employers in Handshake to ensure that their contact and organization information is up to date.
  • Assist with contacting local employers to encourage them to recruit from SUU, through methods including posting jobs in Handshake, mall tables, information sessions, and Student Job Fair.
  • Other duties include helping approve jobs in Handshake, preparation for fairs, marketing, and social media.
  • By working in the Career & Professional Development Center, you will learn how to effectively network, interview, and search for future job opportunities.
  • This position is for students enrolled in 3+ on-campus credits during Summer 2020 semester, with work dates from April 27 - September 11, 2020. After those dates, continued employment with the SUU Career Center is possible, but not guaranteed.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Qualifications:
  • Tech savvy: Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office and G Suite (Google Apps), including spreadsheets.
  • Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in person.
  • Proven ability to work independently and with a team.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in 3+ on-campus credits during the Summer 2020 semester. Online courses and internship credits will not count.
  • Must be an undergraduate student. Graduate students are not eligible for these positions.
  • If you fall below 3 credits or withdraw from your face-to-face course, the funding for your position may be terminated.
  • If you desire to earn internship credit for this summer work, you must find a faculty sponsor who can assist you in accordance with SUU Policy 6.3.
