Description:

This position will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Center for Teaching Innovation. The Center for Teaching Innovation is an office with four divisions:

  • AV/VR, creating interactive content to help increase learning opportunities
  • Educational Technology Support, the daily maintenance and running of Canvas and other related online technology
  • Instructional Design, helping professors build pedagogically sound and organized courses
  • Multimedia Team, creating custom multimedia pieces for Professors to utilize on campus and in courses.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting Center for Teaching Innovation team with varying projects and using a wide range of technology, for example Proctorio, Padlet, and Google Drive
  • Assisting Instructional Design team and faculty with mapping curriculum as needed
  • Assisting with learning, implementing, and evaluating new applications and tools
  • Creating high-quality, interactive, and accessible content based on information provided by faculty and the Instructional Design team
  • Providing Canvas technical support over phone, email, and in-person with SUU faculty, staff, and students

Qualifications:

  • Ability to easily switch between tasks and prioritize multiple projects
  • Comfort and familiarity with Canvas, Microsoft Office Suite, & Adobe Suite desired
  • Customer service experience desired, particularly on the phone and through email
  • Desire to learn new technology skills such as HTML/CSS and Articulate
  • Professionalism, including strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivation to work independently or as a member of a team, including documenting and communicating with the department through project management software
  • Willingness and interest in learning to create web content that conforms to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0)
